They provide product testing, product listing,
quality assurance through on-site inspections, quality control special
testing equipment, and equipment calibration. Their laboratory conducts
characterization determination and physical property testing on natural
and synthetic stones and ceramic tile to United States and Foreign standards
such as ASTM, BSI, CSA, CEN, CNS, DIN, ICBO, ISO, UNI, and others.
They can conduct:
a. Aesthetic Characterization - color and texture determinations
using computerized image analysis.
b. Mineralogical and Chemical Composition - petrographic examination
using Scanning Electron Microscope and material composition using X-ray
Diffraction.

d. Customer developed procedures - the laboratory can also conduct
tests to client developed requirements.
The laboratory employs qualified personnel and modern equipment to conduct
testing. The laboratory has a registered Professional Engineer on staff
to review and approve all tests performed.
The laboratory follows the requirements of ISO/IEC Guide “General Requirements
for the Competence of Calibration and Testing Laboratories, and other
Accrediting Bodies Quality Assurance Programs".
