Material Type: Dimension sandstone blocks for sale: Approximately 3 million sandstone building blocks available, light-yellow-to-brown in color (Pennsylvanian sandstone quarried in 1910-1930); mostly building blocks with semi-dressed faces, includes lintels, roundovers, trim, caps, etc.; all pieces are very uniform (all were quarried from the same outcropping) and fine grained; architectural salvage recycled from a complex of old commercial buildings; this type of stone was commonly used for courthouses, homes, schools, bridges, retaining walls, and commercial buildings in Appalachia before the Second World War; now very costly to quarry, and difficult to find.

Stone Names: Eastern Kentucky sandstone; "yellowstone."
