e 3683 USA: Retail: I want Verde Butterfly or Verde Lavras for a kitchen countertop. The granite dealer/importer suggeseted the Lavras because it is a denser, "less fragmented" stone. I like the Butterfly precisely because of the fragmented look (slabs I looked at had gold veining, black, and few burgundy spots). The quantity I want is 20-25 sq. ft. Location: South New Jersey. Want to purchase locally. The local quote I got is $3700. Aug 1, Contact
Buyer's response in blue: Offers are acceptable.  Also,  since this is new construction and timing is important, would you suggest installing the standard laminate countertop that the builder offers, then have the granite installed?  House is currently drywalled with an expected completion date of 10/30/02.  How do I locate an experienced installer in my area?
Supplier's response in red:
Offer 3: 20-25 sq ft of verde butterfly, custom fabricated countertop, delivered to your door for $50/sf. Which is over 70% saving compare to your local quote. I am in UT, USA
I need drawings. What's your area? Even if NJ is not a big state, "South Jersey" is too vague!
We are fabricator in Salt Lake City, Utah. We're sure that we can have your countertops made and delivered to you by the end of October if you send us drawings by this weekend. I'll send you detailed instructions to show  you how to install the countertops by yourself. It is easier than you think. Or, you can hire any handyman to install it for around $10/sf.
Somewhere near Cherry Hill. Twenty minutes from Philly Intl Airport.  Twenty minutes or less from Delaware.
I think I'm going with my kitchen installer who has a yard in Camden, NJ. My quote is actually $4450 for Verde Butterfly with a standard bullnose. I get a $750 credit for not using laminate which brings it to $3700.
The island is 40" X 70".  The "L" shaped kitchen has a 24.5" section of counter, then a stove, then a 93" run which ends in a corner (corner sink), then a right angle and another 99.5 " run.
Looks like I underestimated the square footage when I originally requested information.  Seems like ~50 to 55 square ft.
Saw the slabs.  From Brazil, polished in Italy.  I'm just afraid that all the middlemen are driving up the cost.  Looks like I'm at about $80.00/sq ft.  This includes fabrication and installation.
